Eastern Conference Playoff Preview: Heat-76ers

The Heat swept the regular season matchup 3-0 by a combined 30 points.

Philly: Losers of 4 of their last 5 games, the ‘6ers stumble their way into the Playoffs after having what most believe to be the surprise team in the NBA this year. Unfortunately for them, they have this Miami Heat team of Monstars to look forward to.

Miami: The way the media¬†scrutinizes every Miami Heat loss, you would think they barely made it to the Playoffs, instead the Heat finish the season as the 2 seed. They tend to feast on the Philadelphia’s of the league and I expect no let-down here. If the Heat dont make the finals this year, they might as well stop paying the cable and internet bills because the media would never let them live it down so I expect them to come out focused and ready to play from the opening tip until the series is over.

I predict the Heat in 4.

2k11 Predictions: Heat in 5.

Game 1: Miami 120, Philly 90.James, Wade, and Bosh combine for 84. The game was never close.

Game 2: Miami 103, Philly 98. Miami jumped out of the gates but Philly inched their way back in a total team effort, but couldn’t make the plays down the stretch. Chris Bosh led all scorers with 37.

Game 3: Miami 106, Philly 94. The 76ers kept it close in the first half but LeBron (38) and Wade (28) took over the second half on the way to double-digit win and a 3-0 lead.

Game 4: Philly 102, Miami 99. Facing elimination and starting the fourth quarter down 6, Philadelphia refused to die. They beat Miami to every loose ball and played a near perfect quarter to avoid the sweep.

Game 5: Miami 123, Philly 88. LeBron (37pts, 14reb, 10ast) and the Heat came out ready and Philadelphia never had a chance. Miami advances to the Conference Semis.

Miami in 6 I say. The heat have a tendency to lead up front and throw the game at the very end. I think the 6’rs will get lucky with two wins. Lebron is going to be too anxious and pull a no clutch moment in these two losses. We’ll see though, miami is def coming out on top in this series though

    • You’re definitely correct. They throw away a lot of games they should have won… BUT. I expect them to come out focused and ready to play for 48 minutes. If not, I definitely agree that Philly could steal one, maybe even 2.
