Eastern Conference Playoff Preview: Celtics-Knicks

The New York Knicks are back in the playoffs for the first time since they were swept by the New Jersey Nets in 2004.

This Knick unit has been inconsistent since the February deal that brought in Carmelo Anthony from the Nuggets. They have struggled to find an identity, at times looking like a well-oiled offensive machine, and at other times looking like a bad AAU team. As they continue to grow as a unit, I see big things in the future of the New York Knicks- but who doesn’t?

Unfortunately for them, and Knicks fans who are the most ungrateful yet loyal fans int NBA, they are facing a Celtics team in the first round of this years playoffs who have played together, know their roles, and play them well.

Boston swept the season series 4 games to none.

The Celtics are also playing for pride. The most scrutinized team in the NBA behind the Miami Heat have been criticized havily for the trade that sent Kendrick Perkins to Oklahoma City for Jeff Green. Most have written Boston off as a title contender since then, and their 10-10 finish to the regular season also didn’t help matters. I’m not worried about their pedestrian finish as I am sure Doc Rivers isn’t either. The Celtics stumbled into the playoffs last year, and there were 4 minutes away from another title.

Series Preview

This series is going to be electric! Playoff basketball back in New York City! Unfortunately for the Knicks, the Celtics could care less about their little homecoming.

I expect the Celtics to handle business, winning the series in 5 games.

  1. Knicks in 4

Knicks will Sweep Celtics Mark my Words..and why didnt you mention the knicks 7 game winning streak they recently had…”bad AAU Team” cmon son..thas why your hawks is in shambles..wheres joe johnson at…100 million hahahahahaha

    • Their 7 game win streak is less relevant than boston going 10-10 in their last 20. Boston is a team that people expect to win.. New York is not (not yet)!

ps.. Leave my Hawks out of this!!!
